We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Association of Microfinance Institutions in South Sudan (AMISS), which took place on the auspicious date of October 26, 2023, at the Crown Hotel in Juba. The event was a momentous occasion, marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries and key stakeholders from various sectors.

Chief Guest H.E. Gen. Dr. James Wani Igga graced the occasion with his presence, lending his support and encouragement to the noble cause championed by AMISS. His inspiring words resonated with all attendees, emphasizing the importance of microfinance in fostering economic growth and empowering communities in South Sudan.

Hon. Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol Bak, the Guest of Honour, also honored us with his presence, highlighting the significance of microfinance institutions in driving inclusive development and financial inclusion across the nation.   • Honorable Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security South Sudan, whose presence underscored the crucial linkages between agriculture, rural development, and microfinance in driving sustainable livelihoods and economic prosperity.
  • Honorable Aya Benjamin Warile and Honorable Changkuoth Bichiock Reth (MP, R-TNLA), whose active participation demonstrated the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at improving financial services and economic opportunities for all citizens.
  • The Managing Director of Equity Bank South Sudan, whose industry expertise and collaborative spirit highlighted the importance of forging partnerships between financial institutions and microfinance entities for greater impact.

Moreover, we were honored to have in attendance various AMISS members, whose dedication and commitment to advancing microfinance in South Sudan serve as a testament to the association’s vision and mission.
